Mr. Michael Liam GARVEY

Senior Legal Counsel

Mr. Michael Liam Garvey is a senior legal counsel to BNG Legal. Liam holds a Juris Doctor from George Mason University in Virginia (United States), majoring in International Commercial Law. Liam also studied courses in Dispute Resolution in Ireland at University College Dublin and Public International Law in Australia at the University of New South Wales. Before studying law, Liam received a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Sydney. He is a member of both the District of Columbia and Maryland Bars in the United States. Immediately prior to arriving in Cambodia, Liam practiced corporate litigation in Washington, D.C. involving such areas of the law as intellectual property, commercial and contract litigation and securities fraud.

Liam previously worked as in-house counsel for a literary publishing company in the United States gaining valuable experience in a wide variety of legal questions. He was involved in matters including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, protection of assets and discussions with potential investors. Liam’s prior legal experience was in a general business firm specializing in residential and commercial property law.

Before entering the legal profession, Liam worked for a number of years in the field of education, his job taking him to Australia, Africa and the United States. Mostly recently he was administering the continuing education program for psychologists at the American Psychological Association in Washington, DC.

His current areas of practice are commercial contracts, intellectual property, corporate law, real estate law.
